On October 17, 2020, NativeLingo IntelliLab in partnership with the Consulate General of India proudly celebrated Mahatma Gandhi’s 151st birthday. It was on an Online Free Event in which more than 100 kids participated from all over the world including Canada, USA, UK, The Netherlands, UAE and India.

NativeLingo Intellilab is an innovative language learning platform designed for students age group 6-17 years old to foster Intellectual enrichment through multilingual education. Aspire to preserve native linguistic proficiency by reiterating the values of culture, beliefs, heritages & to promote cultural diversity & multilingualism across the globe. Aspire to enable students in their foreign language journey & make them citizens of the world!

NativeLingo is making an impact in the Community for Diversity and Inclusion by rethinking the way languages are taught & calling for expanded access to language education globally which is directly impacting diversity & inclusion. The future in Canada & everywhere, is multilingual. And so is the present! Here we are on a global platform learning from each other through multicultural education.

The organizer’s hope is to encourage learning about the unique life lessons from the Father of Nation of India – Mahatma Gandhi. The themes were surrounding Truth & Nonviolence, Universal Uplift and Global Citizenship which were universally recognized and celebrated as preaching of Mahatma Gandhi. This competition was part of the Matrubhasha initiative from the Government of India and participants competed in four categories – Art, Essay, Speech & Quiz Competition in Tamil Language. The event was delivered in Tamil language which dates to 300 BC and has been spoken for over 2000 years which makes Tamil as one of the oldest living languages! Tamil is the 20th most spoken language in the world.

NativeLingo’s director welcomed our guests Consul General of India Smt. Apoorva Srivastava, Kalaimamani Srinivas (Indian Singer & Composer) and judges Dr.V.I. Lucky Lakshmanan (Past-Chair, Canada India Foundation, Vice Chairman & CEO, ORTECH), Baskaran Rajamani (Partner, Deloitte) and Dr. Varadarajan Raghuraman (Staff Psychiatrist, North York General Hospital, Executive Board Member, Tamil Chair Inc). The event had a lot of fun filled activities, arts, essay, speech and online quiz competition with focus on imparting the lessons of Mahatma Gandhi. As our NativeLingo mainly focuses on kid’s engagements, all the categories uniquely designed to mimic the core values of our traditional Tamil cultural celebration. Consul General of India Smt. Apoorva Srivastava thanked all the participants and the celebration concluded by awarding a certificate of participation to all the kids.
